well this is a first! you'll get to meet my first (and only i'm pretty sure) mom friend with twins! i swear to you all any time i've thought how tired i was with only one newborn baby, this girl had TWO. and she's rocked it like a complete CHAMP. meet my mom friend, lauren!  i have known lauren pretty much my whole life. we grew up going to church together, attending summer camps together, and she also holds a special place in my heart because she's the one who played match maker for my husband and i :) she's a teacher and her husband is a fire fighter. talk about two selfless people! the journey to parenthood was not an easy one for her but she now has not one, but two amazing blessings. i will forever look up to her for her strength and resilience as she patiently waited for their dream to become reality. i hope you all love her as much as i do!    little ones name and age:   Boone Marshall and Lyla Grace, both almost 2! describe b

this mom friend, man is she blessing i didn't know i needed. meet my mom friend, sara! sara and i met through work and i remember the one thing i loved about her instantly was her laugh. it's literally infectious. our sense of humor's were pretty much identical and once we found out we were going to be walking this pregnancy journey together, it was fate. we pretty much shared everything with each other. we even had our work baby shower together.   little ones name and age: Harrison Nolan, 6 Months describe being a mom in one word: patience. For the cries, for the messy house, for the husband (he does try so hard!!), for the moments you're finally ready to walk out the door and projectile spit up takes you back to square 1 of getting ready for the day (okay, this may have happened today...) for the dogs running under your feet for attention, for the lack of groceries because no one wants to go to the grocery store anymore, for the lack of sleep, f

baby essential review: baby brezza

Image
while i was pregnant, i was learning all i could about breastfeeding. i couldn’t wait for that experience with jax, it just all seemed so exciting!  once he was born, nursing didn’t go the way i thought and i became an exclusive pumper. 6 months into that process, i was ready for a change. pumping was exhausting and while it felt like such an accomplishment to be able to help my baby grow with the milk i was making, i was lacking in the happy mom department because i was chained to my pump. hence, we made he move to formula and with the help of my best friend, lauren, lending us her baby brezza, it was such a seamless process. this thing is nothing short of AMAZING. and a tremendous time saver. i call it the keurig of baby formula. if you’re thinking about moving to formula or starting formula from the get go, this is is essential! trust me, we have felt the financial effects of formula and while this machine is tipping the wallet a bit, i fully believe it’s an essential!  being able t

diaper bag essentials

raise your hand if you're happy it's friday?! (insert hand raise here)  today, i wanted to share with you three things that never ever leave my diaper bag! seriously, if i leave the house without them, i don't feel together.  not gonna lie, it took me about 6-7 months and so many times of being asked "did you bring this?" or "does he have a so-and-so in his diaper bag?" or "you should really get a so-and-so!" for me to figure out my essential things.  one of the overall things i LOVE about my diaper bag, is that i can attach things to the inside of the bag, so i don't have 2000 little trinkets hanging from the outside. i can tuck them all away in there and use them when i need them!   we have the skip hop downtown chelsea chic diaper backpack 1. JJ Cole Pacifier Pod  this thing seriously helps me SO MUCH. i have at least 2 pacifiers in there AT ALL TIMES. i just clean them up and stick them in there before we le

easter basket finds šŸ°

I’m a sucker for holidays. Always have been. And when I became a mom, celebrating every one of them became something I wanted to make special for Jaxon, even if he wouldn’t remember.  So for his first Easter, I started thinking what the heck do you get an almost 8 month old!? After a few weeks of searching, I finally put together some great things you could actually use instead of just fill the toy box or junk drawer with šŸ˜‰  1. Easter Bunny from Pottery Barn Kids  I wanted him to have a bunny, just not one that was too frilly! And this one was perfect! I scored it from the Pottey Barn Outlet for $9!  2. Aveeno Continuous Protection Sunscreen  A couple weeks ago, we learned Jax has some seasonal exema and after some research, I learned it can flare up with chlorine and sun exposure, so I wanted to make sure we were protected this summer!  3. Easter Egg Rubber Duck from Michaels Craft Store I don’t know how we did, but some how we’ve ended up with a themed Rubber Duck for every holiday
